Dutch Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I really wanted to go but had to have some work done on my truck and this morning was the only appointment I could get this week. Wind or no wind I plan to go tomorrow. I plan to fish from Cape to ???.
Guest Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 fished a few hours on the upper end and 1 short and 1 16" lmg. i believe that a lot of bass are just laying flat to the bottom somewhere. you just do not see much in the water column anywhere. bo Royal Blue and snagged in outlet 3 2
Sprint21fter Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Agreed Bo, on the fish laying smack on the bottom.
Lvn2Fish Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Water temp at cape fair this weekend was 37 ! I put in and fished the James and White Confluence area on Sunday . Found 45 degree water! That was very suprising. The fishing was so much better than expected . We had 7 keepers best 5 right at 15 lbs. ,with a big fish just a shade under 5 lbs . Lots of tiny little shad that were feeling the cold . I did see some big gizzard shad up. Big girl came on the jerkbait 😎 big c and Quillback 2
Quillback Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Does fishing Beaver today count? Fished with a buddy today in the Indian creek arm and we caught 15, mostly smallies, nothing very big, 4 or 5 of them were around keeper sized. Ned rigs fished slow and deep. gurzik Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Fished today out out of Aunts Creek. Not a bite. Was pretty frustrating, but I did mark a lot of way points for when the water finally comes up. Will try again Monday. Good luck
Dutch Posted January 25, 2018 Author Posted January 25, 2018 The weather sounds like pretty nice but a bit windy. I'm putting in at Cape and heading down. Planning on A rigs, jerks, and grubs.
Royal Blue Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I got out. Put in at Mill Creek and caught a nice 18 inch largemouth at our first stop. That was the only fish of the day for me. Came on an *cough A-rig cough*. Ran way up the White River to mark some waypoints only to have some boat trouble and had to call it a day.
176champion Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I was going to go today but im not a player with 20 to 30 mph winds. I know everything about nothing and know nothing about everything! Bruce Philips
Dutch Posted January 26, 2018 Author Posted January 26, 2018 We put in at Cape Fair at 0800 with temps in the low 20s so only motored a short way. Stopped on a bluff and saw fish under us so we dropped some grubs and tubes. Caught 4 bass in about 45 minutes. We fished the rest of the day with out a bite (grubs, tubes, jerks, Arigs...). Quillback and gurzik 2
