As most probably know, the Spring BBB is the weekend. Who's in? Wonder how the weather will affect the bass fishing?

I know the locals are still catching them with A rigs, jerk baits, jigs, and spinnerbaits.  For me personally, like usual, i have no clue.

I hope to get out and find out for myself starting today. And then i will join the crowd and see if i can get lucky this weekend.  If i find anything working i will report back. Good luck to all fishing it.

I wish I was fishing it. I'll be up on the Osage arm fishing the Snagmasters tournament (aka the redneck version of the BBB).

I'd sure hate to fish against you in a snagging derby.   You're gonna win that thing, I'd put money on it.

As for the BBB, it looks like this will be the year of the crawdad crankbait and the jig.  The Hi-def craw, Hula grub, or finnesse jig just might pull it off this time.

We always catch fish, but being that it's a big fish tourney, you still have to be lucky. It pays out for the top 10 fish of the day and we've only placed twice in the nine Snagmaster events that we have fished. The second year we fished it, we only caught two fish and lucked in to a 72 pounder. Two years ago we caught several small males and then hit a 78-8 sow that took first. Most years we've caught 8-12 fish and not won anything though. It really is a crap shoot.

I was actually considering but then got an invite to turkey hunt; those green fish will always lose out on that one.  I’d be chucking a big white spinnerbait(at least a #6 gold willow blade) or a jig.

2 for nine is still pretty dang good Seth....I’d bet you were sniffing around the check line the other seven as well.

I’ll be fishing my first bass bash this year. I was on the water for nine hours yesterday and it was cold, windy, choppy, and miserable. I managed only 3 keepers all day and was middle of the pack for my club tournament. It took 23 pounds to win.

i have no idea what to expect from fishing the bash. I can’t even decide what part of the lake I want to fish. I have no idea what I will throw. I’ll probably have a spinnerbait, jig, and/or craw crankbait. I might even throw a lizard if I’m feeling cheeky.
