Champ188 Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 You can bet that most any of those guys have no problem yanking every big one they can find off the bed and socking it down in the livewell only to cull as many times as they can later in the day. So it’s not just a five-fish limit that gets displaced. One of the many reasons I pretty much gave up derby fishing and the last time I did fish one during the spawn, I purposely passed on bed fishing. Not perfect by a dozen long shots strung together but I do practice what I preach where fish care is concerned. Daryk Campbell Sr, MoCarp and skeeter 2 1
Bill Babler Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Cops for kids is about the biggest bed fishing event we have on the Rock. Most all the best strings are by guys that really excell the 1st week of May jerking them Closer representations of the current fishing is what FLW Costa did with 13 pounds a day for the best fishermen worst year ever and I mean ever for moss and slime from Point 9 to Long Creek. It is breaking up and all thru the water column. As soon as it’s gone that area will fish great as it has not been touched to much extent in a month. At least not fished properly due to your baits being incumbered in the proper strike zone where the majority of the fish are. White River has fished good from Baxter up but has had way to much Pressure to the extent of arguments by fishermen about who was here first and cutting each other off One day last week I heard 2 different shouting matches. 1 at the Ramp and another as 2 guys wanted to flip the same Dock This lake right now is on supreme overload Good Luck vernon, MoCarp, big c and 3 others 6 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Larry Eby Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Unfortunately courtesy has become rare. Was fishing a shoreline up kings last weekend and a dinger come idling slowly past us just to stop about 100 feet in front and dropped his TM. He looked at me as I put my hands up in “what the heck.” He musta thought I was waving, he waved hello at me.

Hard to imagine someone is so uninformed or downright stupid as to think that's OK. big c and vernon 2
Bill Babler Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Table Rock and the White River system is really, really, really hard for folks to figure out where and where not and the correct way to not impede others, especially this time of year. We have folks fishing the backs only. We have folks fishing the points only. We still have fish suspended out deep and we just have guys running entire banks. Best way I have found is just move and wait till later or you may think this is silly, but just pull up and ask what a guy is doing and tell him what your doing. Never in 40 years ever had a problem asking. Usually a big smile how you doing and a go right ahead or a we’re just fixin to fish that spot Problem is flat overcrowding and people with just ZERO common sense tho1mas, dtrs5kprs, MoCarp and 4 others 7 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

m&m Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I had just a couple hours to fish on Tuesday morning so I put in at moonshine and the lot was full. Cops for kids was all over. I went to a nearby cove and fished a small cut. Saw plenty of males on beds but just let them be. Talked to two women who were fishing the derby. They had 4 keepers in the boat. They asked if they could fish the tree line behind me. They were very courteous and I was obliging. Enough water for everyone. Example of true manners on the water Mike big c 1

MDC needs to install catch and release regs. (at boat-side) during spawning season on Lakes just like they have on Streams. Champ188 1
