He made it dead, which is pretty cool.  

Plenty of black snakes and others around to keep nature in balance. One less huge pit viper is good news AFAIC

If that copperhead is 4' 5", then the guy holding it is only 3' tall.  Or something is way off on the perspective on it.

Naw he's taller than I am, and I'm 5'11

I actually saw it laying across the tailgate.  It was between 4'5" and 4'8" by my calculations.  Very big bodied copperhead with a not so big head.  Female full of babies I think.

Longest copperhead on record that I can find was is Texas and was 53"long. They have another unconfirmed one out of Louisiana that was 54". This, at least, could've been a state record if not potential world record if your estimates are correct. What a beast!

Well, how wide is the tailgate on a late '90's Ford F150 ? 

I'm a Chevy guy, so I haven't a clue.   Surely it's at least 4', right ?

Same as a Chevy + - a smidge.    I call it a GREAT kill, especially if was close to my badminton court !!!

beds on both are ~72" so tail gates about 5' + (63" sticks in my head for one or the other)
