Last Minute trip to Florida

So, I guess I’m headed to Destin for a few days. I’d like to do some fishing (Shocker). 

I am open to any and all suggestions regarding fishing in the Destin area. I’ll do some fishing for sure and post pictures if I’m able to catch anything.

If you aren't looking at off shore stuff there are several coastal dune ponds along 30A that have brackish water in them that from what I've heard hold pretty good largemouth bass, speckled trout and redfish.  Info here:

The lakes are best on a moving tide. 
Lots of beach opportunity.  Lady fish, kings, pompano, shark.

Be on the beach before the sun comes up. It's a good time.

Good pier and beach fishing.  Find the sand fleas and either rake or bucket them, and use them for bait.  Bring steel leaders for sharks and kings.

Don't leave sand fleas in a bucket all night in the kitchen.  Trust me.

Trip cancelled. Tropical low made it a wash out. Amazingly enough common sense ruled the day and an eleven hour drive each way to sit inside for 2 days wasn’t deemed to be worth it. 

I still think I will make it over that way this year and I will be better prepared when I go.
