eyedabassman Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Just take a cooler full of drinks and a few lawn chairs to the ramps this weekend and enjoy !
MOPanfisher Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Most of the ramps here at Pomme have concrete lane dividers on them. A leftover from times when they thought people could back trailers. It is good in a way but terrible for anyone who lacks good trailer backing skills. And them.short trailers just make it worse. Boats on the ramp, sunk vehicles, trying to launch with transom ties still on, yiu name it. Some are sad some are just funny. Most of the launch ramps here already are growing that green slimy, slicker than snot algae on them. Makes for a risky launch, when the wheels start to spin sometimes they just mash the accelerator and go sliding in, or jump off the boat and bust their butts.
bobby b. Posted May 26, 2018 Posted May 26, 2018 Seen that at Smithville lake years ago. The guy in the boat yelled whoa before the trailer got to the water and the boat sled right off on to the concrete.

We were all three of us throwing Keitechs on weighted swimbait hooks at the time and had some great hits but could never hook anything. Assumed they were the Gar but the swimbaits weren't torn up and we couldn't find any teeth marks on them so who knows. Assume you were referring to the habit of some big Bass following underneath the Gar schools and picking off the leftovers as they float down ? I probably should have tied on a flutter spoon and tried that.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Put in early at a river access yesterday with nobody there. When I came back it was a full on camp spot with 8 people in lawn chairs on the ramp. With two angry pit bulls to boot. They wouldn't move until I got the trailer all the way down to them. After getting by their car that blocked half of the top end of the ramp. They just scooted to the side while I tried not to hit any of them. I get it on the trailer and hop in and just sit there blocking them all out. They knock on the window and ask what's up. I said "oh I'm sorry am I in your way? On a BOAT ramp?" Then I pulled out and left. 176champion, vernon, m&m and 2 others 1 4
Fish24/7 Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 guys I worked at a marina for 16 years. I've seen it ALL Stuff you could never imagine.. One day a person untied most of my cable marker bouys and brought them to me and said "I found them floating in the lake tied to a cable"... no duh. Another time, diff person, lake was max flood pool and after walking 100's of feet of walkway to get to the marina they asked in a very serious manner " Is this dock floating on the water?, because I can't swim!"
