IL Fisherman Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Hi folks, Curious if anyone ever uses a double drop shot rig? Do you try different colored plastics on each hook? Coming down tomorrow for a meeting and going to do a little fishing.
gurzik Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 I’ve used a finesse jig as a weight before. Had little success, but thought it was worth it try. Let us know how it goes. Good luck
dan hufferd Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 I have for crappie, it works well vertical jigging in the brush. I use a long shank hook though. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but it work well. Johnsfolly 1
Old plug Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 I would think a double drop shot could be a real mess. At least mine would be with two hooks on it. But I guess if it is small enough it might be a good thing..My own are comprised of things like 1 oz weights and 0/5 hooks.
Devan S. Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 I fish something similar for bluegill this time of year on the points and run outs. I'm using small hooks and light weight. I try and space my hooks far apart but sometimes slack in the line ends up getting them tangled.
dan hufferd Posted July 12, 2018 Posted July 12, 2018 My friend Steve, 1st or 2nd drop down through the brush, 1st time ever trying this. It works, you must have good boat control (be able to hover) Daryk Campbell Sr, Sore Thumbs and Johnsfolly 3

eyedabassman Posted July 13, 2018 Posted July 13, 2018 I have done and I still fish it with no problems. I use two VMC Spinshot hooks, one about 10 in. From the weight and then the second hook about 12 in from the other. The Spinshot hook can rotate 360 with no line twist! Works great and you can get some doubles too!
