snagged in outlet 3 Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I have a pair of 20 year old glass Maui Jim's along with a new pair about two years old. They've been everywhere with no trouble and they are prescription. The price will freak you out though. Wasn't there a member on here that is an eye doc? I think I remember I different thread where he chimed in. Basfis 1

My favs are a pair of scrip MJ Kahunas with Maui Brilliant lenses...yes, the price is truly breathtaking, but there are NO other glasses that compare IMO. Mike

I always hope that I'll be able to take the opposite end of a discussion someday and prove that I can indeed change my mind about something. Actually I did (about something) but I can't remember what it was. With any luck at all I'll remember which side of the fence to stand on when the topic comes up again. 😊
fishinwrench Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I feel for all you guys that have such high maintenance eyes. Flysmallie and tjm 1 1
tjm Posted August 8, 2018 Posted August 8, 2018 I have looked at all those high dollar shades and they all have a couple stand out features to me (with the exception of Maui Jim's ) in that they have clown frames and giant conspicuous consumption logos. Cocoons came up on other forums as a good wear over or alone fishing shade. I haven't tried them. Guaranteed though that if I'm paying optical shop prices it will go to an optician not a designer. some (most?) opticians will reduce the price on two or more scripts and the frames won't look like billboard.
