Members Mellow Pescadoro Posted August 13, 2018 Members Posted August 13, 2018 Started seeing fish between the west side of the Eagle Rock bridge and the hole on Thursday morning. Maybe 20-30. Almost everyone was a walleye. There were a few more Friday and by Saturday afternoon more than 50. Most of them were walleye. By this morning at 6:00 am there were probably 250-300 dead fish. It stunk bad. A mix of carp, short spots and 60% walleye. Keeper walleye too.

dan hufferd Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Dang it ! I was going to try to find some walleye this weekend. Thanks for the info. I am probably stating the obvious: I wonder if it is an oxygen saturation thing. I have done some light reading oxygen saturation and walleye. Any word on where the affect stops ?
Members Mellow Pescadoro Posted August 13, 2018 Members Posted August 13, 2018 There was a torrential downpour Wed and I got the kids out of the boat before the toad strangler Thursday at 5. My bilge pump ran for 4 solid minutes afterwards. I didn’t see any fish upstream of the hole to Holiday Island Thursday or Friday. I ran all the way to Baxter Friday morning and was back by 10:45. Saw a couple floating upstream of point 25, but nothing like the 50 that were floating in the stretch between the hole and ER bridge that morning. Wonder if something washed down the high bank there on the north side. It wasn’t bothering the bass in that stretch when I was fishing. When I loaded the boat Sunday morning it was bad.
mojorig Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 The AGFC Trout Program has been spending time over the past two weeks on the Beaver Lake Tailwater monitoring water temps and looking for dead fish. They have only been finding dead Common Carp and Gizzard/Threadfin Shad. However, they haven't gone past were the tailwater ends. Bill Babler Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 Funny why they didn't see any with the guides seeing them by the drove. But it is strange, I went to Rogers today to Cabelas and by the way its now Bass Pro cause all they have in there is Red Head gear that is not worth flushing. But, to make a long story short at Eagle Rock I walked the bank from the ramp to the bridge thru the swim area and did not see any dead fish along the shoreline. It was still and calm and they may have been pushed to the opposite bank. I was going to take some photo's but nothing to see along the shoreline. Did see some K's break chasing shad on the hump right below the bridge. Quick blow up and chase. That was about 4:30 this evening. I'm sure its a DO issue. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
