I've always shyed away from Baits other than Stink Baits because of Turtles.

Today I was using Stink Bait. Every once in awhile Tap Tap. Thinking Small Cats. Catch a couple Channel Cats.

One line kept running like a Catfish, I keep missing it. Finally I say that I'm not going to miss it, catch it, a dang Turtle, hook couple more. Decided to pack up and go home.

After all these years I finally figured out if there is Turtles in the area, it don't matter what your fishing with they will find it.

Wonder if one of these would catch a turtle?

i don't recall ever catching a turtle on a spoon.

Have you caught one on a fork?

I have had turtle on a fork and it is very good just a major pain in the rear to clean. To this day driving down the road Mrs. BilletHead will see a snapper crossing the road. Catch him and I will cook him. I then said it is too small. Once and a while we see a big one. She says it is big enough. I say you going to clean him too? :) ,

Bob’s Seafood on Delmar has frozen Louisiana snapping turtle. It’s still lots of work to dice up, even when shelled, gutted, and slightly processed. Counted parts of at least 4 turtles in the vac pac last time I picked some up.

I take and cut the Head off, take Loppers cut the Feat and non Meaty part of the Tail. Slit skin on parts Pull Skin off with Pliers, take Loppers cut off where connected. Clean up Flour, Salt, Pepper and Fry.

It is easier leaving the Shell alone, something to hold on to.
