tjm Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I'd like to watch that done, it would be a learning opportunity for me.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I bet it would be for you. This guy can help you all. I believe he did a video on it http://www.davywotton.com/

Well, I’m calling a 5-fly setup overkill, even if you’ve got a guide tying that up for you. Do you frequently do it? I tend to fish smaller water and very rarely do two nymphs. John
Gavin Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 I prefer to fish only one fly well, but will fish 2 until I get dialed in. A crackleback or griffiths gnat and a small dropper works really well on low water Taney. Figure most blind nymph caught fish are actually flossed. Always prefer to see the fish move and eat. Sometimes you can’t.

I believe he did a video on it http://www.davywotton.com/ I wasn't talking about the multi-fly cast, I have some experience with that, three is about my limmit but I know the old guys hung five on a regular basis when salmon fishing. I had to search a bit to find what Wotten is about, but an hour later and I still find no reference to 10' of tippet under a bobber. I have never figured out bobbers on fly lines, there's a reason why the casting and spinning rigs are popular. I also wouldn't know how to handle 10' of tippet without a bobber, so I could learn two things with one demonstration.

It's not my favorite way but I ain't scared of it either. And if I can cast a bobber with 8 foot of tippet to the first fly and another couple to the dropper. then anyone can do it. Kind of reminds me of casting a big air resistant popper on a 5 wt. And yes I do go without the indicator when I can, but sometimes I need that crutch to have some fun. snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 1 1
