snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 That would be in the ballpark. There is also the vertical driven pile underneath those.
Gavin Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Thought they would replace that with a longer higher span and a concrete decked bridge. DNR folks should be able to provide a copy of the RFP, bid details, and final costs when done. Construction procurement & accounting is usually a well documented process. snagged in outlet 3 1
tjm Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 It should all but final cost be available now. What branch of government keeps score on DNR money? Terrierman and fishinwrench 2
NoLuck Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Maybe the park concessionaire chipped in to hurry up the project......🙄 Foghorn 1
MOPanfisher Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 Is the 750K price tag an actual number or is it I heard a feller at the bait store who a was told by the custodian at the park sort of a number. Even with a lot of background in Government requirements for contracts, engineering requirements etc. I can't see 750K there, has to be more to it, like maybe it is part of a much larger project and that is where the total cost came from.

That number was a quote from the last BSSP meeting, and as I understood it nobody batted an eye at that figure. I, on the other hand, just about fell out of my chair when I read it. Can't imagine any other high-dollar projects going on there of which it could have just been just a portion combined. Hell they just spent over a million not that long ago "updating and improving the hatchery"......for nothing. And immediatly after that did they not buy property from Larry Peace and construct cabins near the spring in the flood-zone? They are burning up some coin with a quickness down there, and none of it appears to be done intelligently at all. MOPanfisher 1
MOPanfisher Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I don't know what all is happening there but they certainly burning up some coin as you put it.

It was streamside parking before they built the cabins (which flood in about every heavy rain). Wonder if Peace leased the land to the DNR when it was just a parking area.

I don't know, I was told by Kelly that a survey was done and that a portion of property was transferred. His land butts right up the theirs so it may have just been a small sliver.
