Where did the fish go

I haven't fished in a while, try this.... this area is small but I have caught a ton of fish here. If you can stay on it there is a brush pile between the 1st and 2nd wake buoy from the west, there is usually fish there, it will be right where the rough water starts. (west wind today I think).

Evening bass and even walleye is good near the ramp. When the light comes on get your finesse worm up on the bank right at the edge of the light, big fish will cruise up there grab some food and run back to the dark. Slower seem better with just a hop every so often. I think the south side of the ramp is better (left if standing on the ramp).

 Overcast day, no moon, west wind. It should be game on !

One more...I have caught walleye on the edge of this transition at all different depths and on that flat. some sort of vertical jigging, spoon (Binks😀) lipless crank, swimbait, etc.

Thank you for that information.  I was fishing that point yesterday, but I couldn’t catch anything.  I’ll hsve to try those and other methods next time I go out.  Be safe out there and thank you for all the help

I had some luck Friday paralleling steep chunk rock bank with a square bill crank bait 4-6' deep. As luck would have it when I picked up a crappie rod I hooked one of it not the biggest walleye I have ever had on. It pulled lose while I was fumbling in the rod box for the net. I did catch three nice chunky keeper bass and a 3 lb. walleye on the crank. The walleye belched out two really big shad in the live well. Should note I made a lot of casts to catch them.

Ya I’m exclusively kayak.  I like the excessive and the peacefulness.  It gives me the opportunity to watch wildlife up close and sneak up on the fish on the banks without scaring them.  I fished the points when I went out,  the banks and my usual spots.  Most of the places mentioned above.  I was marking fish on the fish finder.  I drug the lure through the shad, on the bottom and burner soft plastic through the brush and still nothing. None of my methods or lures worked.  I might have to toss out the tackle box and start over with a new set up and lures

I feel you Brad. I don't usually do as well as some of these guys. Try as I might. I really work hard on trying to educate myself, but for some reason, I just don't have those days that create a story. But like you, I absolutely love it. And will continue to trudge the road to happy fishing. Keep on plugging buddy. Mike

I was goal oriented till the sun started to set then I couldn’t help but to put down my poles and just sit there and marvel at it.  You got some really great sunsets over the lake.  Sunrises too
