Question about Nanofil

The strike detection with nano is unbelievable.  I've given away two spools already.  I think I gave one to Ham.

That one I will agree with. I'll even agree with people that say they like the invisibility of mono/flouro vs braid(that's a confidence thing that is more important than any of this.). The waste thing? No. I don't care.

Thanks Ham...how does Nano perform when its below freezing? Have been using the Suffix braids in 2lb diameter, and it needs a leader for abrasion resistance, and the ability to bust the leader off if need be.

To me it seems that Nanofil doesn't soak up water like say fireline.  I try to keep.it well coated with some KVD or similar line protectant, not sure it that really makes a difference or not.  I have had more issue with the end guide freezing up, but if it is REALLY cold I probably ain't out there anymore.

I don’t remember having any problems with it freezing to itself on the spool. I guess it might, but it didn’t last Saturday or Sunday morning.

I try not to go when it’s less than 20 degrees unless somebody Asks me to go.

Seems like I have gone on a few of those sub 20s trips the last couple of years 😁. No issue with frozen lines.

Thanks again Ham, I have been switching to mono if it’s in the teens. Think I’ll give a spool of nano a shot on next month’s float trip.

Gee a Whiz Gavin, I wish you would try it on a non critical trip first. I love it, but I’d hate for you to spool up and hate it.

No worries Ham. I always have a backup spool on me when wade fishing, plus extra reels dry bagged    In case I get one wet and it freezes.
