Caterpillar is doing the same thing to get around emissions. Old, worn out units can now be totally rebuilt. The complexities of emissions requirements can be overwhelming -both in engineering and cost.

I bought a Versatile brand tractor a few years ago that was a “classic” model. 375 hp articulating wheel drive. The “classic” was emissions free. The company buys credits from the United States govt to sell the old technology Cummins motor. Super simple, super desirable, great few economy. My newest tractor, a 260 horse power unit actually burns more fuel. I can’t understand how hindering a diesel motor, causing it to get poor fuel economy, is saving the world LOL the green police are idiots...

ps: Don’t even get me started on new, emissions governed semi trucks…

"for years to come"...... Yeah about 4 of them at most.

There is already NLA parts for Opti's, and that list gets bigger every month.

The truth is:  They have a massive inventory of blown powerheads, and it's that drag queens job to find a way to turn them back into profit.  😅

The Mercury Model, to a tee. I'd rarely heard the term NLA till I sold Mercury parts. Planned obsolescence.

I can't dance like I used to.
