I love my power poles. They aren’t a necessity but they sure come in handy loading and unloading by yourself.

So does a 3-foot bungie cord and a courtesy dock. Or a Hamby bow protector. I've been fishing 40 years without power poles and have never damaged or scratched a boat tying it up to a courtesy dock or beaching it to load/unload. I like toys as much as they next guy but not to the point of paying thousands for something I can easily get along without.

I've also never seen the need to anchor my boat in less than 15 feet of water on Table Rock or Beaver. Even bed fishing in these lakes, you very often need to keep your boat sitting in water much deeper than power poles or talons would reach.

And then there's the issue of getting your boat in the garage with those things.

Just my opinion but I don't get it. What I do get is anyone who pays $4,000 for them or thinks they look cool enough to want them is gonna try and justify the expense. Just like jerseys, they are pretty much a decoration. Don't help you catch fish one bit. You can see that in person at your local weigh-in.

Just because you can't use them on your lake doesn't mean they are useless.  I take a trip to fish up north, Minnesota or Wisconsin, every year and I wish I had them every time.  They have a use and when you need them I am sure they are great.  Similar to spot lock trolling motors.  They are a $1200 luxury add on to a $800 trolling motor, but once you have one you will not go with out.

The context of this forum is Table Rock. I clearly stated that I've never seen reason to anchor my boat in 15 feet or less on TABLE ROCK or BEAVER.

If I lived where shallow lakes were the norm, I'd have them.

Those Power Poles are invaluable on The Rock. I have no idea how Donna and I get by without em. I doubt we'd ever get a bite if it weren't for 😂our matching jerseys.

Nope you kinda poked fun at someone coming to Table Rock to fish a tourney with Power Poles on the back of their boat even though they could have been from Florida.

I personally find it hard to believe you don’t wear one of those jerseys with your name on it, you incessantly make fun of as well.

If I lived in texas, up north or in Florida I would want them. I can't justify getting them here on these deep lakes though because it's not often you would or could use them here.

I know this is the Rock forum so excuse me.  I just put a set on my trout boat.  I anchor a lot on Taneycomo, especially when I have kids or mature folks that like to bait fish.  I have gotten to the point that I just could not lift anchors and you need 2 at least 40 lbs. each end of the boat to hold in the current and at times the North wind that blows right up the shoot.

I have had several problem and know about the monster site.  I got a team deal on mine and only have $1,800 in two 10' blades so it was a great buy for me, as it really will help in my job.

As Champ said for the Rock not so much, but I'm sure once the bugs are out I will love them on Taney.  Garage doors and PP are a complete Nightmare, I have to make sure mine are up max as there is a 2" gap.  Already had a snicker doodle.

Carry on.

Okay, but you can add the Richard tax for the hassle.  I have no idea about the second part.😆. So I’ll defer to your expertise on the matter like usual.
