Quillback Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 I don't know what you guys did to the fish this weekend, but it wasn't good.  🙂 I fished until 2 PM, boated 11 bass, not one keeper, and they were all spots except for one 10" LM.  One on a jerk bait, one on a Keitech, and the rest were ned fish. Fish were scattered, never found a hot spot. Couldn't get a bite shallow, biters were in 10-25 FOW.  WT has jumped since the last time I was out, saw a low of 47 and a high of 49. Should've been better fishing than what it was. Maybe next time.   cheesemaster, BilletHead, merc1997 Bo and 2 others 5
rps Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 You did better than I did, but I did not get out until nearly noon. Water temp was 49 when I pulled off the lake. skeeter 1
bferg Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 Sorry Quill- that’s what happens when I get on someone’s spot- leave a stink that takes some time to wear off! Quillback 1
Quillback Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 I don't know what it is, but here's my list: Moon is almost full Sudden rise in WT Rise in lake level Drop in amount of water being released Wind out of the NW All of the above Terrierman, crazy4fishin and magicwormman 3
Champ188 Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 A lot of them may be starting to move back into the creeks and spawning coves. Other reports indicate that is the case. crazy4fishin 1
Quillback Posted March 19, 2019 Author Posted March 19, 2019 Seems to be a few back there, but it looks to be pretty random. I checked a few spots in coves, couldn't find any fish there. Â
magicwormman Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 My guess is they are still suspended in deep tree in the mouth of spawning coves, waiting for the temperature to rise. They are stuffed with the recent shad kill and can't get another thing in their mouths. Better days are comming, like the full moon in April! Codywskeeter1521, Champ188, dtrs5kprs and 1 other 4
liphunter Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I went yesterday to Eagle Rock. I had never fished that area before. Just wanted to check it out. I had forgotten how beautiful TR is when you take the masses off of it. Seen five boats all day. Not much to report. No surprise there for me. Water temp was a pretty consistent 47-48 degrees, although I did see a couple of quick 50's. Caught a couple of small spots on a RC. That was all. Considered writing made in Stockton on them with a sharpie, so I could take them home and eat them, but didn't. What really surprised me was how clear the water was. Really was hoping for some color. But it was so clear. Is that area always like that? Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???
Bill Babler Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I think its stained right now. Between the Kings and Campbell Point it is down right colored. I fished from Shell Knob to Emerald Beach yesterday and it was off color, so it can get much, much clearer.  liphunter 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
shark bait Posted March 21, 2019 Posted March 21, 2019 Went with a friend on Sunday. We put in HI, fished around there for a while and worked our way down to Panther where we finished the day. Only had 4 small ones. The water is more clear up around HI than it is around Roaring River and Panther. Becky B
