Flyfisher for men Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I don't get to go there as much as many of you, but I can see why that bridge is irksome to those of you who are taxpayers. I'm not keen on the swimming pool decision, either. Could they at least designate a swim area on the Niangua over in the canoe launch area? I've never been over there to really check it out, myself. I don't use the pool as I go there to catch trout on the fly. However, to me Bennett Spring is the place it is because of so many people who went there every summer as kids, and now they go there with there kids and even grandkids. Swarms of happy kids have as much to do with that place as much as anything, and a pool helps that.
Gavin Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 A pool helps allot! Some of the kids and some of ladies will fish allot. Others want to swim and play. Our in-ground pool is a big draw with friends, neighbors, and our kids school friends. Repair the pool, add a volley ball ct, put golf, add a decent bridge. snagged in outlet 3 and Bushbeater 2

I grew up there and fished a lot but the pool was great on those hot summer days. We'd spend all afternoon in it.
oneshot Posted May 24, 2019 Author Posted May 24, 2019 I know MDC don't take care of this but some were complaining about them catering more to Horse Back Riders and Hikers on MDC Areas over Hunters. Was told they used the areas more than the Hunters. So don't the same hold true to these Trout Parks? oneshot
trythisonemv Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Not to mention the fact that they are raising the cost of a daily tag to five bucks next year and the cost of a trout tag to ten, theyare taking in plenty of revenue to manage these amenities easily. I havent ever seen this bridge you guys mentioned but will be going monday to take dad. Im sure its stupid and ineffective. The pool was so much cheaper and closer for us as kids then driving in to Lebanon and there were super cute girls from far aqay lands to meet.... this is saddening lol now my kids wont be able to pickup city girls!
oneshot Posted May 29, 2019 Author Posted May 29, 2019 I seen where they was going to open the pool but they was set on closing it last Fall. oneshot
Members gwh Posted May 29, 2019 Members Posted May 29, 2019 The conservation commission is considering raising daily trout tags to $4 for adults and $3 for under 15 years of age. Also considering raising annual trout permit from $7 to $10 for adults.
fishinwrench Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Just make it an even $10 and then do things RIGHT. Stop phucking around! 🤬
