Saturn close to earth tonight!

Hope it clears up a bit. Would like to get a view of Saturn’s rings through my scope tonight. Better shot at that if you live far away from many light sources. Take a telescope out away from light to stargaze tonight. Sb moving SE to SW.

It would have to be really close to see it here tonight.  Thunderheads at 10,000 ft.

I met a pro last year that has an observatory built into the side of his house.  I asked about light pollution, he lives in the middle of town.  Seems like with new digital stuff, you can get around that problem.  He has some great pics.

Cloudy for me tonight but this will be around a while. Jupiter is close now too.

Sky Guide is a cool app that everybody in the universe should have. Here’s what it shows is going on outside my house right now

Rotate it around, up or down and it shows what’s out there where you’re pointing. Very cool.

I like Stellarium.  PC app.

I have Skyeye on the phone.  Works when I am out in boonies.

More people should look up at the sky, day or night.  Some pretty cool stuff to be seen if you just watch for a while now and then😉

We had perfect skies here.  Absolutely  gorgeous  planet !

I've been seeing that thing also the last few nights.  Too big to be a star, not sure what it is.

Jupiter will be the bright one on the right of the moon, Saturn will be to the lower left of the Moon.

50 Years Ago, We sent a man to that big ole Moon.  Lots of TV about that.

Arguably the greatest single achievement  of mankind so far. Yet it was 50 years ago. We couldn’t do it today for 10 times the cost. I wonder what’s changed?

While the IQ of the average American has increased the overall intelligence of the government has tanked. But if you can guarantee them a win in the next election they will have 10 people living on the moon next week.
