You’re probably handling them wrong.  But I’ll let the pros tell you that it’s you not the fish. 😆

Looks white.  Poop is not white.  Just sayin'.

Bird poop is white.  😊

White bass poop is actually dark gray, then turns white after it drys.  It's pretty gross, smells like chum, and is easier to clean after it drys out.

I didn't even handle them.  I was netting them because I don't trust them when they have 2 treble hooks on their face.  Unhooking them in the net with pliers and dumping them back in the lake.  As soon as they come out of the water they loose their bowels.... forcefully.   I don't think they are getting enough fiber in their diet.

Occupational hazard.  I do my best not to squeeze while removing hooks and hold over the WATER as much as possible.  I guess a guy could cut his line without bringing aboard...

I’ve seen that when they were gorging themselves on shad in warm water.  Did you try a single hook bait to see if it caused them less stress?

I would think  that if I were eating all the shad I could stuff in my belly every day I would leave marks like that behind too.

You might be onto something.  Usually I flyfish for them with single hook flys, and they never blow crap all over the place then.   It must be the Rattle Trap baits.

I think it may be those cross breed misfits that inhabit the Gravois. Just kidding, I noticed a bunch of that crap on my boat today.  On the plus side there's been a decent green bass bite last few days.
