I Finally Got a Slam

I know I caught Bonnevillie Cutthroat before on the Norfork, but Davy Wotton said Themis is a Yellowstone Cutt?

Been There done that, but usually only have 3 only have Browns, Bows, and Cutts when I get the Smallie or walleye as the fourth

I probably saw you up there this morning as I was the only wader up there. Couldn't believe they were running minimum flow. Saw the trailer parking lot was full when I left. Those rainbows up there are studs.

Wade fishing was great until they blew the horn at 10 am and then I moved down to Cotter.

 

Wasn’t me today. I was at Wildcat thumping Rainbows in skinny water. Most takes were visual. I wish I would have brought fly rods honestly. 

I hoped to get another slam on the Norfork today, but they didn’t run water on schedule

BTW I did not know that you had never gotten a Grand Slam...Truth. I was caught up in the moment that you guiding and me and Rob both got Slams same day and you were one brown shy of a Slam yourself...That would have been EPIC to get three slams same boat same day!

Yes Sir, but if you remember I got the “Ham Slam” that day with Bow, Brook, Cutt, and Walleye.  

I have also gotten Bow, Brown, Cutt, Crappie, and Largemouth on Norfork

Congrats Ham! Enjoyed seeing the preview all day long helped me get through that crappy week back in Columbia. Like DJ I would have loved to see it all in person. Maybe later this year or next if I can get back that way.

I wish you guys could have been there too. I’m still Super Happy I was Finally able to catch all 4 (err 5) trout Species available . I made some intuitive decisions that paid off. It’s Great when it works out. Please understand a 10 inch Baby Brown would have been fine by me, but a 22 inch hook jawed male was closing out the cycle in style. 

I swear I intended to quit fishing after the Brown, but during the long run back to the ramp, I changed my mind. I had to make one final drift. Just one more. I changed to a smaller jig and caught 9 more trout in the slower flows tight to the bank. I did stay true to my promise to myself to quit after that last drift. It was close though.
