bobby b. Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Follow up to previous post. Out the last two mornings. Wt 81-83 degrees. Fish still on the gravel flats in 25 - 30 fow. Seems they want to play at just a certain time of the morning, at least that's the way it seems to me, unlike the summer time on this same ground when the drop shot can work all day long. The pic of my graph was typical of some of the locations I visited, while some of the same type ground have just one here and there. However, the best bite came from fish coming from higher in the water column down. Also some locations had lots of small bait balls around. If I fished the drop shot with crawlers in just a short time I would be bothered by the gills. Best to use the plastic worm now. Again the weather is starting to be really pleasant in the morning at least up to about 10 a.m. Bobby STLbassbuster, Jadesjigs, magicwormman and 6 others 9
Bill Babler Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Bobby, those don't look like bass to me. I'm sure there may be some in there, but I don't believe the majority are. I'm probably wrong. Pete Wenners has been looking thru an Aqua-view camera a lot in the dam area and he said he has been seeing huge schools of Gizzards and gills in that depth range. That school pattern looks like gill and gizzards or gizzards and a few gills. Probably a few bass up above in the column from time to time are also present. bfishn, STLbassbuster and magicwormman 3 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Bill, I doubt you are rarely wrong when it comes to fishing. Can you tell me what specifically you are seeing in that screenshot that makes you say that? I have been taking screen shots like that and then comparing them against what I catch. If I use crawlers gills seem to come after the Spots but I'm not seeing any difference in the graph. It may be just like you said, some bass in the mix. Thanks Bobby
Guest Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 even if it is gills, bass like perch for dinner too. sometimes there might be a good chance that there are some bass around that area keeping an eye on dinner. bo
Bill Babler Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Very seldom do you see bass layer stacked in Table Rock like that. I don't think I have ever seen it. also the individual images don't look like bass to me Some shots from this morning I know most of these are bass as I wacked the tar out of them merc1997 Bo, bobby b., STLbassbuster and 7 others 10 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

vernon Posted September 19, 2019 Posted September 19, 2019 That's good stuff Bill. If you don't mind my asking, how do you adjust your chart settings relative to shading to get the background color scheme shown in your photos? I can never figure out how to get a decent representation on mine, especially my HDS 9. While I realize that the 9 and 12 are the same unit (with the exception of screen size of course) I flat can't seem to get the colors/shading adjusted to anything that looks "right" if you know what I mean. In fact, my HDS 9 typically displays all water in solid white. I've messed with these things in the garage and on the water for way more hours than I've fished with them and it's beginning to become a personal thing! That's true, I just had a colonoscopy and the doctor told me that he learned how to do it on U-tube.😅 Seth, magicwormman, vernon and 2 others 2 3
