I have a squirrel phobia.  My brother had one years ago named Speedy.  He also had a mallard that lived in the apartment pond but it would always come into my brothers place and walk around and hang out.  My brother is like that, everybody likes him.  When Speedy got full grown he became more wild and he would bite and scratch and I was involved in an "incident" with Speedy.  After that i don't trust em.  So today I open the front door to check for packages and there it is.  A big ole green nut.  Like they put it there on purpose.  I watch em around the house and one has the hair stripped off his tail.  I think they're tttttrying to start something.

It could be worse, you could have these things to contend with.

Hickory nuts must taste better than corn, peanuts and sunflower seeds, because my squirrel feeders haven't been visited in over a week.

I haven't started "harvesting" them yet.  I had almost zero squirrels around here until I put up feeders early this spring, and now I have at least 7 for sure, and at least one is a red (which is rare around here).

Everytime I harp on my wife for spending money stupidly, she reminds me that this upcoming squirrel pot pie has cost somewhere between 400.00 and 1000.00 🙄

That's a lot ribeye's.  Not sure I would take squirrel over cow.
