~6.4 was big fish.  I don’t know anyone that got a check.  They pounded my buddies dock in Gravois.  He remixed the song “Can’t touch this” to Can’t catch this” and would play it on his dock speakers when a boat pulled up😆

Some laughed some gave him the finger and one guy caught 3.5 by flipping a jig under it.

Anybody hear what "the deal" was?

Seemed like every boat that came by us was slinging a white spinner bait or buzz bait... But I never saw a fish landed.

If the three guys I knew and talked to that got money fish, two said fishing was tough and they just got lucky. One guy caught three fish Saturday and one was a check fish on a buzzbait weighed in at Ivy Bend. Another caught a check fish early on a big swimbait and weighed in at PB2, but said fishing was slow. The guy that got third caught his on a bluff end up the Glaize on a brush hog. Not sure how fishing was overall for him.

I caught fish on a little bit of everything, but nothing stood out. Had one little flurry in the rain Sunday along a 50 yard stretch of bank on a buzzbait and that was about it. Otherwise it was just a fish here and there.

I didn’t fish the bash this fall because I had to work, but I’ve been out a few times in the past week. We have been doing pretty decent on a brown and orange jig (carrot cake) I make. I can get some for anyone that is interested, just shoot me a pm.

I found this Craw in my livewell a week ago. If you add a green pumpkin trailer to my carrot cake jig it matches pretty well.757490D2-9823-48DE-9687-1E241E75C05D.jpeg

These jigs have been producing for me and my buddies.

Nice looking jigs!

Keep in mind that you cannot base your jig colors on half digested craws barfed up in the live well. The gastric juice of a Bass always makes the craw turn orange.

I knew the guy from Okie that was leading after the first day wouldn’t sleep well Saturday night. If the sun was out on Sunday, the big cruisers would’ve been out and he might’ve held onto his lead, but with the inclement weather we had I knew he would get beaten.

That lake seems to fish much better in the rain. As soon as the wind and clouds picked up we went to a wind blown shore and caught our best fish of the weekend on buzz baits. Three bigger fish than his 6.1 were weighed in on Sunday.

I covered MILES of water Sunday with a buzzbait on wind blown rock banks, secondary and main lake points without much to show for it. Found one little stretch of rock bank about half way back in a cove that produced three bites in a bow. One was a good one and of course he didn't get hooked up. Fished several others stretches that seemed to fit that same pattern and never caught squat. Must have just been right place, right time. Even went back and fished that same bank a few hours later and not even a sniff.

I'm gonna have to spend some time marking some off shore structure for in the future. The best areas we found the past two years was off shore cover that we stumbled across while fishing. If I had enough of it marked, I would have just ran that all day as nobody else seemed to be fishing it and we could pull up and catch a fish or two nearly every time.

While I don't doubt that, I gotta mention that we saw some live craws in the river last weekend that were as heavy on the orange hues as the chunks in that pic.

Nobody threw a square bill?  I've had one on for 3 weeks and they are just choking it.  70% hooked on the front treble or had the whole thing in their mouth sideways.  Smallies in the river and largemouth the past two weeks.  I'm headed to the White Thursday and I think I might leave it on.

I threw cranks all weekend
