Curious how many different colors of midges do you carry and what sizes? I have so many and wasn't sure if it was just me that had such a wide variety. Seems like I revert back to the same 3 or 4 colors and sizes.

Which three colors do you go back to? Which two sizes have caught the most fish for you?   I need to tie some up.

We carry a root beer that Jeremy Hunt supplied to us.  He swore by them.  I haven't tried it but someone bought some this summer and said they did real well on them.  Now I assume it's dark brown but I'd have to go up to the shop and look.

My favorite is a version of the ruby midge. I use bright red thread and then black wire and a silver bead.

Works great on the White and Norfork.

I only carry 2, the primrose/pearl Midge and the harvester Midge.

Pale yellow and flashy

or

Tobacco brown and drab

One of those always gets the job done. I've never been in a situation where someone was spanking me bad with a different color.

In the winter months I have had some really successful trips using orange.  Even midges with just orange wraps work really well.  Have some scuds that are a real light brown almost light orange that work well in the winter months.  Orange San Juan Worms too this time of year have been successful for me in the past.  Not sure why just that it worked.
