oneshot Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 Springfield is predicting warm temperatures equal to 1971. I remember it real well. Then it turned off cold and snowy for many years. They was predicting the next Ice Age because of all the Air Pollution. Remember it being so bad family in the South was digging up Main Waterlines because they had froze and busted. Semis were being buried In drifts. 200 inches of snow in the mountains. Remember seeing 65 Highway down to one lane because of drifting snow and well below zero temperatures. Now they are saying it is too warm the World is going to end as we know it. oneshot tho1mas 1

fishinwrench Posted December 24, 2019 Posted December 24, 2019 I'll say one thing, the bee's around here are super aggressive and seem to have a major attitude. Have been out giving fly casting instructions yesterday and today and they are instantly offended by anyone swinging a stick around, they wanna take it out on your face and neck.

Had to laugh had a Father in Law about this time of year want to cut a Bee Tree. It was warm and day time. We went to cutting, them Bees weren’t having any part of it. I robbed many but it was on a cold night. oneshot
jdmidwest Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 Its not a time of year that they are normally active. They are bored and looking for something to do. This time of a year, bees are normally in a state of hibernation. Clustered to keep warm as a group, moving around the hive on the inside as a group to areas with stored honey. Warm days come around, they carry out the dead ones and poop. Then go back to cluster. Normally This warm week has them out looking for stuff. Pine resin for Propolis to seal cracks, old pollen on weeds, etc, all stuff for the hive to survive. They were attacking the chicken feed at the farm, dragging the grain dust in to use for food. All my hives have been active, which means they have made it this far. But this warm weather means they will burn more honey stores and the cold weather may be more dangerous to come. fishinwrench, Daryk Campbell Sr and tho1mas 2 1 "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. oneshot Posted December 25, 2019 Author Posted December 25, 2019 That is about the size of it. Go to El Paso the Fence doesn’t stop the air following a South Wind. It is bad down there but most the people have just learned to live with it. oneshot

Not sure when it was being over 40 years ago but know it was after Firearms Deer Season which ran Thanksgiving week. They was so mad and stinging him he broke his glasses swatting at them. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted December 25, 2019 Posted December 25, 2019 When you watch the re or highs and lows on the new both are scattered over the last 75 years. Cold periods and warmer periods. Does seem that winter is shorter and less well wintery than it was when I was a kid. When you are walking around outside on Christmas day in a t shirt and sweating if you do anything you know it's warm. Personally I am not pining for a return to the cold snowy days of winter. Prefer it like this as the fishing is darn good in the fall/winter, even if I don't get to go much. fishinwrench 1
oneshot Posted December 25, 2019 Author Posted December 25, 2019 I noticed in Colorado Mountains there is not very much snow when just a few years ago they was worried about avalanches but upper Vermont is still very cold. The first Winter we was here it was very cold which was 30 years ago and we basically stayed outside. Either way man is not in control and we will never control the weather. Funny they always go on an average over so many years. Last year the rain was very steady all Summer, year before not so. I was in a meeting in St. Louis on Climate Change. I forgot where I was and brought up dealing with people because of Climate Change. It wasn’t pretty LOL. They all jumped me that we needed to change things now. oneshot
