The only time mine comes on is when I need to find something. Turning off saves battery life. The government needs to find better things to do than track what I do during the day. I thought I read some years ago that the GPS could no longer be turned off?
Mitch f Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 The “Masters of the Universe” want to make sure they Track everyone’s whereabouts. Plus, All you have to do is look up an add about something you like one time, then mysteriously all the adds on your phone are about that one thing. That doesn't necessarily mean GPS but is more likely tower triangulation, I think. The gist was that taking the battery out was the only way to stop the reporting. Been a while since I read that and I don't recall where I read it. Maybe I read that newer phones don't let you take the battery out for that reason.
fishinwrench Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 Who is hiding from who ? Surely there's a little box you could put a phone in that would kill the signal, no?

My wife couldn’t find her phone...after several days of looking we got the “find my phone” thing going on our laptop. My wife says it keeps saying the phone is at home. We kept zooming in and it showed it in the middle of the street. We found it crushed to pieces but still in the street. Apparently she laid it on the top of the car to put our kids in the car seat, then drove off. The phone seemed as dead as a door nail and crushed. How was it able to produce a signal with apparently no batteries? "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

Just wrap it in tin foil. If you can't find any around the house, use some from your hat. 🤣🤣 I can't dance like I used to.
oneshot Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 My wife said next week they will probably shut down the town. They told her from now on go home at 11:30 and work from home. She says that makes sense I have been taking off at noon then working from home. oneshot
