Nothing yesterday but Saturday one came through and took out a 15 year old apple tree. If it had just leaned some I would of tried to gradually pull it back. This broke roots and went down way too far. thumbnail_0503201105.jpg        So I had to make a trip this morning to town. It was real dark in the West. Went to the bank drive through and the first round hit. High winds and torrential rain. Even under the drive in canopy it rocked the truck. When done I drove to the neighboring car wash bay for awhile. It let up and I booked it for home. Just pulled into the shed/ shop/ garage. Then the hail hit. It was so loud it was hurt my ears. Not real big but it worked over the lettuce and bok choy in the garden. Lots of holes in the leaves. I shot a couple pics and covered my ears until it was over.

thumbnail_0504201133a.jpgthumbnail_0504201133.jpg     This was the first round. As @Quillback said second and worse round coming later. Counties just to the south are in a tornado watch. I'm sure we will be included before this is over.   You all be safe.

Yeah we're now under a tornado watch, I can see the storm line setting up on radar.  Grrrr…..

Yep Jeff they are lining up in Oklahoma and Kansas and blowing up. Just issued a thunderstorm warning between us. Big batch heading up I 44 towards Joplin . Radar shows it just now getting there.

Had to hit the grocery store over the weekend.  People's attitudes seemed more lax about maintaining a "safe" distance.  Seemed like there was less fear about being out in public or around other people.  Store wasn't nearly as busy as I expected, either.

Here is a poignant post and it hit a lot of buttons for Me! The poster shall remain nameless and so shall the site (Site....not really...I visit it a lot and IDK if you know!).. not that you cant search for it... (My Commentary Added not that you care.. don't bother trolling case you wont get a reply from me!.. You know who you are!)

"Has anyone noticed that death has become our obsession on this website (ZH)?  How sad.

There is a profound difference between existing and living, and the bridge that leads from one to the other is acceptance of one's own mortality.  You cannot live in fear (But you can be smart), you can only exist in it. (Agreed!.. go friggin garden or something other than OBSESSING who done who wrong and live life!... But care for others more than yourself and surely search for the truth as to whole stole your cheese!)

I'm 74, and my best friend is a former colleague still going strong at 91.  All but one of my friends is older than me. (I cant say that!)

And we are all pissed because these stupid lock downs are interfering with our ongoing commitment to spend every last dollar of our grandchildren's inheritance.  (Yup!!! tell this to my kids every day!) None of us fear death; no, it is the possibility of ending up in a nursing home, no longer independent, robbed of our personal dignity-- that's what we all dread. (Agreed!.. and I am committed to keep mom from there but its getting harder because I cant give her the care 24x7 she actually needs!.. and that gives me concern and a sad prospect for tomorrow!)

I'm out every day, and I see lots of elderly in the stores and on the streets.  But in the last month, young people have been gradually disappearing from view.  Are they all cowering in their basements? (Not sure agree with cowering.. I have a basement dweller and he and his friends are actually looking to bail and make a go if it... WOOOHOO! :;^^:)

Life is a terminal condition (Aint none of us getting out of it alive!!!!).  No government edict or program is going to change this. (Copacetic maan! Copacetic :high:)

I still do not know anyone who's had it or even been tested.  I don't think I'm going to get it.  I'm very very careful and don't need or get contact with very many people ever.  And when I do, I have a mask on and a wipe in my hands.  When dear leader tells me it's safe to go out again, that's when I'll hunker down even tighter.

I only know one of hundreds of people I talk to weekly.   The loosened our restrictions in the county but my company said we are working remotely for 2 more weeks to see what happens.  I still do not know any family, friends or neighbors with it. I’ll sit tight for now.
