I haven't been following for a while...

$290 per test but my nephew said they only do a throat swab so I'm not sure it's the same...  This is on the strip in Branson.

We were approved for a SBA loan yesterday.  Our accountant applied for us.  If we qualify, we don't have to pay it back.  Otherwise, we'll pay it back later this year after things start back up... may be.

Not sure if I posted on here, we are closed.  Several reasons but the bottom line it was for my employees.  Our neighbors are still open though.  Lazy and Ozark.  The lake is baron of boats and trout fishing is very good.

I'd love to see more news items posted on the latest info - that's what this thread was started for, although I like the discussions too.

This was interesting yesterday.

I try and watch him every night.  Carlson at least shows some news about the good things happening surrounding this.  I posted a while back people should watch is shows.

Am I a believer? yes.  Do I believe its as serious/bad as the media is portraying it? no.  Am I taking precautions?  Dam right.

The internet has ruined me to where if I cant see it with my two eyes, or someone I trust sees it with their two eyes, I dont believe it.  Thank GOD I live where I do.  Rural America has been looked down on for a century, now is our time to shine.

Cody you are right about being rural. Just like in the dark ages and the plague those folks crammed into tight spaces took the brunt of deaths.

Glad you are taking precautions and staying safe. I do ask what is the media portraying how serious or bad it is? As of today 277,205 people sick with 6593 deaths. if we all were not told how bad it is and treated it like the common flu where would we be?

More info to show for those who would want it. For Missouri a map breakdown for cases and deaths in counties. We can keep our state by doing our part. So far zero in my county.

Most of the media is sensationalizing it like crazy.  CBS went as far as to use footage from italy, but portraying it as hospitals in NYC.  Then you see videos on youtube of the same hospitals with basically no people.  Who do you believe?  I know my wife went to Baxter county hospital yesterday to get blood drawn and she said the hospital was almost deserted.

Part of the reason for scaring people is in the hopes everyone will stay home, but If at least 50% of the workforce is "essential" (myself included) it will never work.

This virus spreads easier than the flu because you will be transmitting it for days with no symptoms.  With the statistics we have right now though it is NOT any more deadly than the "regular" flu which killed roughly 2% in 2018-2019. (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html)

Speaking of South Korea and their containment success, look at some of the other Asian countries...

Japan with a population of 235 million and some of the most congested living space in world has only 69 deaths.

South Korea with a population of 53 million with only 177 deaths.

Taiwan with a population of 23 million (right next to China) with only 5 deaths

We need to look more closely at their game plans.

I think there is more than meets the eye there, especially with Japan.  Their population is aging

That makes their numbers even more impressive as older people are more likely to die from the virus.
