Members Toby Estes Posted February 6, 2020 Author Members Posted February 6, 2020 Thanks for all the information. Alot to choose from. The Wheeler video was really interesting.
3DHUSKER Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Noticed on the video on the console units he was not comparing apples to apples. He was using 1.1 MHZ on the side scan on HB (4:19) and 455 KHZ on the lowrance (4:37), you can see it clearly on the bottom left of the unit when he pans. Of course it will be better out a long way on the L. If he would set the Bird to 455 it would look the same. When I look for stuff at 150 feet I use 455 setting and when looking close for detail i use Mega. Its all in knowing how to use your unit and what it has for capabilities. Disappointed he didn't know that being the pro that he is. Maybe he should revisit his video and update it. When I get a chance I will see what else I can find. This video tells how to use a bird correctly to see what you want to see with the 3 frequencies available. Mr Wheeler needs to watch this.
Members Lead Hill Lunker Posted February 6, 2020 Members Posted February 6, 2020 Bill, so if cost is not the issue and you were going to go all in on Garmin, how would you rig your boat with the Garmins? (models) I have 5 year old Lowrance now and am thinking of going all in on Garmin.
3DHUSKER Posted February 6, 2020 Posted February 6, 2020 Ha... Just went to the youtube channel and looked at the comments. I am not the only one to catch this. Now If I could get some good weather so I can use my Graphs I would. Maybe I just need to retire so I can fish anytime. snagged in outlet 3 1

Bill Babler Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Just like I posted earlier in the thread, but would add 1 more 126 to the console. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted February 7, 2020 Posted February 7, 2020 Here is really something to keep in mind. These pro's have not only companies throwing merchandise, but also money at them. Sometimes the money is hard to believe if you hear the numbers for some of these mega companies that are sponsors. I really can't go there its not nascar money, but its scary. I'll go back to KVD. "Just because I use it doesn't mean you will get the same result." More of these Pro's BASS, Bass Pro tour, FLW and BFL don't have or may have this stuff on their boats but really don't use it all that much. Yes the Panoptics it a big deal for just about everywhere, but how many guys just go down the friggin bank and don't pay a whole lot of attention to it. More than do. Right now this is a massive arms race. If your buying a new boat really there is no price ceiling, you can keep on adding to pretty much infinity. Just have to be able to write the check. Good Luck big c 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
