Members Bassin' fool Posted February 9, 2020 Members Posted February 9, 2020 I got to try out the Livescope on some crappie in Oklahoma last weekend and was just curious if anyone uses it on Stockton. We were fishing pretty shallow muddy water so it would be interesting to see how it does on a deeper Ozark lake. On a side note: I couldn’t believe how much thicker those crappies were than ours up here. We caught several 14.5-15” fish with the heaviest weighing 2.26 lbs. Seems like it would take closer to a 17” crappie on Stockton to weigh that much.
Members lmt-outfitters Posted February 10, 2020 Members Posted February 10, 2020 Yes. I just bought one. I am just learning how to use it. I used it last week on Stockton . I couldn't find any walleye but was cruising trying to find shad balls. Never did find any but saw some under water trees on my lowrance and decided to get the livescope out. Started seeing some fish swimming around the trees drop a jig and crawler down to them and low and behold boom. Saw him hit the jig. They were catfish. Not what we were looking for but cool anyways. Next drop saw a fish suspended about 6 ft from the bottom in 30ft of water. Could follow my jig down when it got to the fishes level flipped my bail and half a second later there he was. Another catfish. Ended up catching 4 in short order. It was really eye opening although nit what we were after but would have never even fished in that spot with out it. I am very excited about getting to learn it. I think it will be a great tool. nomolites, liphunter, Ham and 4 others 7

ollie Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Yea, just about all the guides on Grand use them to find the slabs from what I have seen. Almost looks like cheating if you ask me! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

waterpossum Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 I watched two different boats using them about a week ago at Stockton and they were watching the screen and catching crappie. The fish were over deep water. the person I talked to at the ramp after my day of futility said they were 40" deep over 60' foot of water. I understand they are a great tool, but have reservations where this will lead to fish population wise over the next few years.
waterpossum Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 On a complete different note, when I stepped out of my cabin up here this morning I was greeted by a huge otter trancing through the woods. I am about 1500" from waters edge.

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 24, 2020 Root Admin Posted February 24, 2020 I bought one but didn't get it up and running till mid summer so I'm excited to use it for crappie this spring. For trout - useless. Trout are everywhere
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Hooked up my livescope last night and took it out today. Absolutely amazing, watched a bass come off a tree and eat my a-rig. It think it is going to really help with crappie terryj1024 and snagged in outlet 3 2
