rod grips update

Another outside the box idea is to get a Super Stroker grip designed for golf putters or clubs. They have a BUNCH of different styles, sizes and diameter grips to suit anyone's needs. I'd imagine that the inside shaft diameter would be pretty close to accommodate a fishing rod as golf shafts and fishing rods are pretty comparable in that regard.

They carry these grips at just about every golf shop or sporting good store. So if you wanted to get one "in hand" they are widely available.

That's precisely the cause. The minimalist grips cause you to squeeze all day.

With a fat handle, I just sort of let the rod hang there, just enough pressure to keep it in hand.

Surprised the Ranger glitter sled allows that monstrosity in the boat. Figured the first wake/opportunity the hull hit would eject that eye sore off the deck and into the KC13 abyss.

I really like the Winn Grip rod tape myself.

I've called it Big Ugly since I built it. The color cork rings didn't work out the way I planned. And the wrap looks terrible, but fishes great.

Built another prettier looking one on a 6'9" Avid blank. Pretty cork and threads. But we still call it Little Ugly.

My Lund was built for those ugly toothy critters up north so i think I'M ok. lol

it even lets me ride in it so it can't be too picky..

you can buy the Gamma tennis grips for about 5 bucks for 3 wraps on amazon..I have big hands and use them on all my rods.  Unless you fish in a driving rain all day they last a whole season.  They come in several colors

Good info. Was about to learn a lot about tennis until this week. Boy was playing HS tennis. Of course practices are cancelled now.
