Members crittermo Posted March 24, 2020 Members Posted March 24, 2020 Since there is absolutely nothing to do because of all of the new guidelines and rules that are in place right now, I thought that I would try to go out and do some fishing this week. This will be the first time out for me this year and I'm not sure where the fish will be. I thought I would try the Gravois arm starting at the upper end. I hope that you will all follow the rules set by the political bosses and give me some social distancing. If you could let me have about 5 miles of the arm at that end that would be great. Unless of course I'm not catching anything and then I would ask you to give me more social distancing at the lower end of the arm. I'm sure if everyone would pitch in, follow the rules and let me fish the areas by myself with no one else around I should hopefully be able to scratch up a limit even with my basic knowledge and skill. Thank you and God Bless. Seriously though, I hope that you are all in good health and that you stay that way.
fishinwrench Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Go get'em ! It was miserable out there yesterday, but should be improving by Wed.

His daughter caught a small bass and catfish yesterday on night crawlers.
Bushbeater Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Caught a mixed bag of Crappie and Bass yesterday out of the muddy water on the Niangua. Most were small. My son had one nice fat keeper LM. Best action was on a Kaitec or craw colored crankbait. Greasy B 1
fishinwrench Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 I took a beating Sunday, barely avoided a skunkin', so I'm not going back out again until we have a couple warm days and the wind shifts back out of the east. snagged in outlet 3 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 My buddy wants to go tomorrow and I'm not wasting PTO on it....
MOsmallies Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 Man the bass fishing is rough right now. Has been since November from what I hear. I couldn't really figure them out last week while I was social distancing/working from home at the lake so I chased these guys around instead! Shooting Docks was by far the most productive way to catch em. My boys even braved some cold windy weather to hang out with their old man! FishnDave, nomolites, Johnsfolly and 4 others 7

Sure beats Video games at the house!
Bushbeater Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 Noticed a couple strange things on the water today. The first is I caught about 20 whites/hybrids/stripers or mutts that were about 5 to 8 inches. Several sure had the look of pure striper. Almost like they dumped a truckload in my area. Then, after dark I was moving the boat to a covered dock and there were a couple of huge blowups like schools of whites chasing shad, It was dark so I couldn't really see what was happening but it sounded like all heck and each lasted a couple of minutes. I've never seen that in the spring before. I was lucky enough to be able to clean a nice 20" walleye and 2 12"+ crappie. BilletHead and fishinwrench 1 1

They do stock them in your neck of the woods...the ruckus sure sounds like hybrids to me. I have run into them busting up top early in the year on Beaver and it can be a real hoot, but I usually have trouble finding them on the lower end of LOZ in spring but I imagine many are up the river arms false spawning. I will keep trying. Mike Bushbeater 1
