Like a drop shot tip, with a shakey head butt. That is a nrx 901s. Very sensitive rod too. I personally like to feel everything. I have gotten where most of the time I can tell a little bluegill bite from a bass bite so I am not jerking at everything. Let the bluegill nibble until the real thing hits the ned. Wish we would have been able to come down; I would have let you take one for a day to try out. dtrs5kprs 1

Bill Babler Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 The Holly Grail of ned rig rods is no longer made, due to some health issues in Harrison Arkansas. Falcon Cara/ Nestor Falls Spin, later called the Jeff Kriet Squirrel Tail. I'm lucky to have about a dozen of them left. Pair that with a Shimano Stella and Maxima 5lb. test and that is about the kit and ka-bootle. You can also throw a 2.8-3.3 inch swimbait with a 1/8.3/16,1/4 oz. head out of sight. On a fishy note, they never stopped biting. I went back for a 3rd. time and dumped the boat back in at Old 86 at 2 and fished till 5, Just dropped the troller and fished the same water again and caught just as many. Was trying for more Gog's just for fun but kept catching those durn small jaws 😁 They pull to hard and just plain tucker a guy out. Hope all were safe from the storms yesterday and last night, nothing but rain at the Lodge. God Bless and Good Luck big c, m&m, magicwormman and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

God Bless and Good Luck I took your advice a couple of years back and purchased two of the Squirrel Tail rods and I absolutely love 'em. Although I got them specifically for Ned fishing they're so versatile and comfortable to fish that I use them for many other applications and wish I'd gotten a half a dozen more. Sorry to hear that they're no longer made. Guess I'd best take good care of these two! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." I can't seem to find 5lb line of any brand ANYWHERE..
Quillback Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 I know you asked Bill, but since I knew where, I'll post the link: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Maxima_Ultragreen_Line/descpage-MUG.html dtrs5kprs 1
dtrs5kprs Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 I'm a 7'6" spin rod guy for anything except the 1/16 Ned. And we use 7'6" for it, with the finesse Shadz, and for the 1/32 heads. After building a few, buying a few, the 7'6" Abu Venerate was as close to my customs as I've found.
