oneshot Posted May 26, 2020 Posted May 26, 2020 I was wondering if Archery hunting this time of year even though you’re in a Bear area and have a nice Buck come along just shoot the Deer. Been thinking about Minnesota Bear hunting but might have a chance here. oneshot
Haris122 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Personally feel like it’d be better to let the population grow another 5 or so years. Current estimate is what, 500 or so. That’s still really small number for a state the size of Missouri. Let them make a little more of a comeback before opening a season for them. Terrierman and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

I'm in the camp of don't shoot what you don't intend to eat unless there's a nuisance situation. Do people eat the bears they kill or is it just for the thrill of it? Daryk Campbell Sr 1

Some of the shows I’ve seen mention eating them but I got a feeling most people wouldn’t be doing that with them here.

If I was able to do it again I would eat it. fishinwrench Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 I got fed a meal of bear meat once. If I hadn't been told differently I would have thought it was roast beef. Terrierman and Deadstream 2

Bear meat is delicious. I think that it is a sweeter meat than beef. Do need to cook it well done since they still can carry trichinosis. Deadstream, BilletHead and Terrierman 3
