Dutch Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 I fished out of State park today from 10:30-3:30. I fished between there and Orleans Trail. I caught 14 bass all on Zeros. They were in coves in about 6 fow. I couldn't get a bite deeper than that. I weighed my best 5. They ranged from 4.75 pounds to 2 pounds for a total of 14.5 pounds. Members freefallin Posted May 20, 2020 Members Posted May 20, 2020 Nice job Dutch.. I have been quietly catching really good bags for a couple weeks now. All offshore. 15’ to 20’. The last couple days struggling to find keepers. Thinking of moving back to fishing the banks. Not quite warm enough with this rain. Really surprised at the size of crappie and walleye that are ingesting the NED. My 8-10 keeper LM is way down maybe 2-3 this week. Fishing only one lure 3/8 oz underspin with my hand pours so slow I often snore a bit I think -bank fish are a week out- but I am a pitiful fisherman at best.. Thanks for your update. wily, liphunter, Rootman and 1 other 4 BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON! Ronald Reagan
Dutch Posted May 20, 2020 Author Posted May 20, 2020 As I stated, I could not find anything out away from the bank but I didn’t try very hard as I was using my new “leggy” jig in the lightest weight to see how it worked on Stockton. First results were promising. All of the fish were hooked in the roof of the mouth and none hooked deep. I am working on a similar one for my Neds. liphunter and mrgungho 2
mrgungho Posted May 20, 2020 Posted May 20, 2020 Thank you for the report! From the pics it looks like the water was pretty clear? "Some go to church and think about fishing, others go fishing and think about God."
Dutch Posted May 20, 2020 Author Posted May 20, 2020 I never went above State Park. It was clear there and down toward the dam. When I drove over Turkey creek it was nearly muddy. mrgungho 1

Dutch Posted May 21, 2020 Author Posted May 21, 2020 Zeros are what Strike King calls the elaxtech baits that Zman calls Zinkers MNtransplant 1
Members freefallin Posted May 26, 2020 Members Posted May 26, 2020 Dutch You nailed it. The last couple days average maybe 20 fish or so in 5' of water. Still pretty cool 63 64 ish. Fishing some of the same spots but shallower. These fish are wanting to spawn but the cool rain and cloudy skys are confusing them. Going to fish every day this week and maybe catch a bed fish. Additionally hoping to find camping at state park. BOTH POLITICIANS AND DIAPERS NEED TO BE CHANGED OFTEN AND FOR THE SAME REASON! Ronald Reagan
