oneshot Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 We have always paid our Taxes. My wife does up Taxes for a few but they are current and not much of a problem doing them. Know a guy that never paid any Taxes has his own business. Never would have been caught but his Son working for him was getting a divorce. She was wanting Child Support. They was telling her that her husband was unemployed. She said wait he is working for his dad whom has his own business. So they got to checking his dad who hadn’t paid Taxes for over 50 years. Yesterday had a meeting found these people owed over $100,000 plus penalties and interest and indirectly effects us. My wife was upset over this. She gets a call from a guy I use to work for. He hasn’t paid his Taxes for 4 years. IRS put a lean on his property. Seems he has done this before. He was wanting my wife to do his Taxes. She told him no that she wouldn’t touch them. Kind of like stealing eventually you are going to get caught. oneshot Phil Lilley 1
fishinwrench Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 What kind of business? Working from my home I pay next to nothing. It almost feels like I am cheating.....but it's 100% legit. I get asked all the time why I don't move the business up on the main highway, but I already have as much work as I can possibly do, and working here keeps my overhead down so my labor rates aren't completely rediculous. I don't feel like I would gain a thing by being right up on the highway.
Mitch f Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Warren Buffet used to brag that he paid less taxes than his secretary. All those unrealized capital gains I guess. Last quote for him.... "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

His Son worked for me until he stole from me. The ones were dealing with now didn't pay the IRS for money we was paying them for 14 years. Pressed Charges against them and hope we can work something out with the IRS. oneshot
