I tightline mostly euro style. Use drop shot alot and two flies always. For  dries use 16 to 10 caddis same for hoppers or cricket. Buggers are best at size 10 to 6. Big flies work well

Thanks for the advice and euro recommendation.  I am new to tightline style and am hooked.  The black hopper looking fly you subsequently posted, that would be fished as a dry or is it not a hopper?

I'm not sure that you have.  You met my FLY TYING mentor. But he and my fly FISHING mentor can't stand one another. 😅

Two fly rig on the tail waters is hard to beat sometimes....

We fished with a kid at taney that was the master of the multi fly rig. He could rip a fly out of his hand, face, arm and other body parts quicker than any one I have ever seen.

My brother snagged a guy in the upper cheek on his face when the dude walked behind him.  My brother was all freaked out and the dude said no big deal and just ripped it out.

A friend and member here before he passed RVconrad got a fly stuck into himself at Roaring River. He turned white and said we have to go to the hospital and get it cut out. You would have to know Ralph to know how he looked at things. Well I said just calm down and said 'I know a trick to get it out painless. Got a section of heavy leader and put it around the hook bend. Told him to push down on the eye slowly and it would come out. He was concentrating on that part when I gave it a quick tug without any warning. Out it came. He looked at me and I thought oh crap he is going to pound me. His eyes got big and he said that was amazing. Did not hurt at all😁.  He thought I was a miracle worker like the thorn out of the lions paw.   Neither Pat nor I told him that was the first time I had done it. 🤣    Ralph if you are reading this please forgive me ! Miss you buddy.

Solo as a dry. Would make a decent dropper floater if you tied in a hot spot so you could see it. But at crane just as a dry fly since it is so small and narrow. Buggers are the best way to go but cricket pattern will get it done if they are eating dries
