On days when the fishing is slow I cold drop it in around the ramps and see what I find. We drug one around in the riffle below the stone bridge at Bennett and collected 4-5 pairs of cheap hemostats, a stringer, a little tape measure, 2 sets of nippers...one of which was a set of Dr.Slick's that I'm still using to this day, and a Schrade Old Timer pocketknife that I also still have. Next time I'm down there I need to do that again. Thanks for the reminder. 👍 snagged in outlet 3 1
fishinwrench Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Almost forgot. Couple years ago a guy drug a magnet around under the Spring branch bridge here in town and came up with a fully loaded Ruger LC-9. He supposedly turned it in to the sherrifs office so they could try to track it down.

Johnsfolly Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 Came out of the woods to an ice parking lot. Set me bow on roof while I got me gear in the vehicle without falling. Picked up my bow off the street about a half mile away. It slid off only when I made a sharp turn. Couple scratches but I've used it ever since. Terrierman 1

Quillback Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 This is a bit embarrassing... Bird hunting out in Nebraska about 10 years ago, I unloaded my shotgun, set it leaning on the rear tire, and put the dog in his kennel, hopped into the truck and drove to the next spot that was about 10 miles away. Get there, get ready to go and realized I had no shotgun. Drove like a mad man back to the spot I had parked, shotgun was still there lying on the side of the road. It was a gravel road in the farming country, so not a lot of traffic and I got lucky.
Johnsfolly Posted October 22, 2020 Posted October 22, 2020 My buddy left his shotgun in the parking lot of a conservation area. To his surprise it was not there when he got back🙄. Worst part he had to face his dad who had given him the shotgun. Who knows it may "still" be at the gunsmith😉. Quillback 1

I found an AMT Hardballer by the grace of good luck. It was a stainless steel pistol, but the mag was regular steel and the magnet locked on to it. Fell out of my shoulder holster as I jogged across the railroad bridge to avoid an oncoming train. My buddies dived for it and could not find it. Some others came thru and asked what we were looking for. I said "a Zebco 33 rod and reel". "Going thru alot of trouble for just a cheap rod and reel"! "But my Daddy gave it to me the day he died, lots of sentimental value....." "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
