I don’t think they could cover water as quick

Quicker to pick it up and lay it back down, than it is to reel it back in, flip the bail, cast it out, crank it down, and begin another retrieve.

Gotta have someone to row if you are gonna fish a streamer. And you will be to close to the trout.

Craziest thing I've ever heard.

I flyfish from a boat alot. Nobody "rows". 🤔

Yea if you only strip it a couple of times, that’s not covering too much water, that’s just a controlled distance type thang.

Oh baloney!   An average caster can shoot 20' without a single false cast.   Allow for just one false cast and the fly is on the water, back on target, while you're still fumbling with the bail...or slapping your jerkbait on the surface to get the weeds off of it. 😎

You know darn well that you're only fishing the first 10-15ft. of every cast anyway.

At Taney those fish are all the way out in the middle of the river too. If you guys are talking about keeping  certain distance from the bank, making 2-4 pulls, then taking your rod and recasting, then yes, I’ll agree it would keep up with a jerk bait. But staying 30 yards of the bank, which is what is often done, no way you could cover as much water. Plus, with anything weighted you don’t have the ability to dead stick.
