But they ARE infringing upon you and yours.  THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT HERE.  For about the thousandth time, you wear masks to protect others FROM YOU, more than you wear a mask to protect you from others.  And you avoid crowded indoor gatherings to protect others from you as much as you from others.  If everybody is on board with this, the chances of ANYBODY getting it go way down.  But the more people that aren't on board with it, the more people get it, even if they are being reasonably careful, and the more people that get it, the more danger everybody else is in, and the more that the economy and a lot of small businesses suffer.  You said above somewhere that I want everybody to do it my way.  Nope.  I want everybody to follow BEST SCIENCE.  Best science says masks help, social distancing helps, and large indoor gatherings are some of the worst spreaders so should be avoided.

Al, I have alot of respect for you.

But, I have sense enough to know when I feel bad and would stay away from others if I did.  Others don't have to worry about me giving them a dose.

The mask is to retard the aerosol spread of the virus particles from mucous and saliva into the air.  And retard the aerosol spread from and infected person to others, to some extent.  Most maskers don't wear one that really prevents the spread.  Its only enough to make them feel correct.

Social distance and cleanliness will take care of the rest.  If you are sick and feel bad, stay at home and away from others.  Don't put on a mask and go out into the world and think all is fine.

I am an essential personnel that has been dealing with the public on a face to face basis since day one, bareback.  I use distance and wash my hands often, avoid sick looking individuals.  I will shake your hand if eye contact allows me to.

I am not in the group that is really risky of the worst of cases, but I don't want it.  Or any bug going thru the public.

I am in no way condoning risky interaction between others, just use the brain and science.  Real science, not the Facebook kind.

But, you don't have to feel bad to have this virus and spread it.  Geez, haven't you been paying attention?  Of all the people I know who have it or have had it, nearly every one of them got it from somebody who didn't know at the time that they were infected.  This has been repeated thousands of times just about everywhere.  I think I even said that asymptomatic spread is actually one of the biggest problems and dangers with this virus.  Unlike the flu, which as you said you know when you have it and don't go anywhere (or if you do go somewhere, other people probably can tell you have it and try to avoid you), there are PLENTY of people who have this virus and show no symptoms.  People were touting that as being good news about this virus, when actually it's the worst news of all, because all those people are potential spreaders to people who WON'T have such good outcomes.  So yeah, you have 200 people weddings going on and one person in the crowd is infected and doesn't know it, and bingo, super-spreader event.  This is not Facebook science, it's real science.  And, not only science but common sense will tell you that wearing ANY kind of mask correctly will limit the spread of the water droplets that carry the virus, simply by slowing them down as they leave your mouth or nose.  Stop them...no.  But they are far less likely to reach the person who is standing 5 feet away.

The original post nailed it...you can’t fix stupid.

also can’t force your will on another...

I don’t wear a mask at home. I do out and about. It’s not really inconvenient to me. If it is to someone else, that’s fine, I’ll note it and avoid them. It’s pretty easy to not hug it out with strangers. Also easy to not put my hands in my mouth if I shake hands.

way too much time spent worrying about everyone else.

Didn’t you claim to wear gloves and use tongs to get the mail? That’s fear, not science...

Actually, if I remember correctly, he is retrieving the mail with gloves and tongs, then leaving the mail in his garage for a week before touching it again.... Providing that the mailman and all the postal workers are still alive on the 7th day.  😂

Jesus H Christ, that's some scary Science.

I'll almost be glad for Biden to go ahead and get moved into the Whitehouse so that all this BS will stop.

And stop it will.  Magically.  🙄

so the public is protected from you but  your family isn't? That seems to be about normal. I was really wondering more about the really fearful folks that get so agitated about the possibility of seeing a naked face in public, how they protect their at risk family members from themselves.

Can we hold you to that?  It seems like that I heard something like that on Fox News a few months ago.

I definitely wear a mask when I visit my 91 year old mother.  Harris will probably get sworn in when the machine gets through with the Hunter Biden investigation.  I wonder if using a duck call propels potential covid germs into the air subjecting those downwind to potential exposure.  Note to self be on the upwind side of the blind.
