Just received a box in the mail, inside was a brand new Stanley Thermos.  A present for many years of helping out, has a nice logo on it and everything.  Heflin it, seemed lighter than my two much older Stanley Thermos.  So I go and dig them out, the old ones ar very noticibealy heavier.  Turn them over, old ones, Made in Tennessee, new one Made in China.  I still very much appreciate the thermos as a gift, and honestly u wouldn't have thought to turn it over and look before I gifted it either.  But very much saddened to see an Icon from the past become Chinese Made,  sort of looking at a Buck knife you got as a gift and seeing it is one of the Chinese Made ones.

Ahh, a Biden Thermos now, hu?

That sucks.    Time to shell out for a Yeti.

Just for kicks, get the old one, fill them up....and do a review/comparison for us.

I use the old one several times a year.  And.the new Chinese Made onea out perform it I have no clue.   I know the old ones do well until you get a couple cups out, then they cool down quicker, I presume due to simply not having the mass of hot liquid in it to keep up the temp.  But even a warm.cup of coffee can be a precious thing when you are cold and tired at dark.  Since the new one has a nice logo on it, most likely it will simple become decor.  But if I need it I would filler it up and.take my decor on a trip.

Cool idea. Hot drinks and cold drinks. See which holds temp longer.

The one I have has the twist to pour cap that doesn't require removing the cap to pour a cup.   That sucker will keep the last 1/2 cup of coffee steaming hot all day long.

I just dug it out to look, and it doesn't have a "made in ????" stamp anywhere on it.

Well, you guys made me go downstairs and look. Nashville, TN. Probably 20 years old.

I would definitely do a comparison if I had both. Heavy doesn’t necessarily mean better at its job. Then there’s durability.
