Gavin Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Ray Krouscoup was a hoot. He used to tie all the Don's Crawdad's for Hargrove's shop. Not sure if anyone ties those now.
tjm Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Quote Crane Creek was probably chosen because of the railroad, the main form of transportation in the 1800s. Records show that tracks crossed the cold, clear creek by the time the Missouri Fisheries Commission began stocking rainbow trout. The area was already an established thoroughfare, with a leg of the Butterfield Overland Mail route passing through in the mid century.
Chief Grey Bear Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 “Rumors became facts in 1903 when grading machinery and gangs of laborers moved in. The Missouri Pacific Railroad reached Crane in December 1904, and made a division terminal there in June 1905. The roundhouse was built in 1906. The Springfield branch was built in 1905 and 1906. J. H. Taylor became the first agent and later built the Hotel Portland.” https://thelibrary.org/lochist/periodicals/wrv/V1/N9/F63e.htm It no wonder our country is in the shape its in. fishinwrench 1 Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors
fishinwrench Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I don't know why they even teach History in schools, because once you get older and can practice a little deductive reasoning on your own, you'll likely figure out that what you were taught was complete BS. If you think the truth gets twisted terribly NOW, just imagine how twisted it was back then.

I would have guessed that the railroad he referred to was SLSF or some early defunct system, but hey I know nothing about railroads or Crane. Then chances are the first stocking was after 1905?

He worked at GM on the line😂

I have no way to prove it, but I have a feeling that Crane cr. receives a stocking every 3-4 years. It definitely has within the last 7 years.

snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 I found this in the Crane section. May @trythisonemvor @drew03cmccan chime in? They seem to fish there a lot. laker67 1

You're literally a programmed drone. You really are. 🙄
