Garden is ready for next year. 16'x20', the I also have some raised bed areas also.  Wife painted the weather vain. It is a old old one we picked up some 40 years ago. Moved it from 6 houses we built together. More photo's later

After harvest this plant will be finished for the season.

Will be reducing the number of plants I have down to 8. Should get another round in a few weeks from them also.

watermelons I think are ready, picked one this evening to try

I Know or Believe I know what the pipe is for, Fertilizer? Yes or No? But what are you using for fertilizer on your Maters?

Thanks

I think I mentioned it a couple pages back, but we figured out it was mice eating some of our peppers. So, I started setting out traps. So far we've dispatched 15 of them using the Victor traps and Jiffy Chunky (which I think America's Test Kitchen says is best, and I think I agree). 4 traps disappeared -- I have no idea what happened, but I hope some critters aren't suffering with a trap on their tongue/nose/paw/whatever. Did a few sticky traps too. One disappeared, one made it's way halfway across the yard, and two got turned over and covered with dirt. No more sticky traps.

Now we've got too many peppers :D

Decided to cut the season short this year due to drought conditions. It rained twice during the month of August, just not enough to keep things alive. I wasn't going to run up the water bill trying to compensate so I decided to just let everything go. Picked my last two watermelons this morning. Got one more round of jalapenos to take. Harvested the last round of tomatoes too.

Was a very successful season despite cutting it a month short!

Thinking about building a green house next year.

This is the third year in a row where Summer was  just too dry here

It's a watering/feeding pipe. If you look back through my previous posts I mentioned my recipe for growing tomatoes.
