Travis Swift Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 I bought an Amped Outdoords Lithium to run my scope and graph that fits in the palm of my hand. Will run it all day no issues and leaves my cranker to do what it's supposed to do. I know alot of guys running Dewalt batteries for their scopes now as well. dtrs5kprs and Daryk Campbell Sr 2

Do you have it in the back, or is it up front?
Members BullShoalFisherman Posted April 1, 2021 Members Posted April 1, 2021 I have put a lithium Ion battery into an plastic ammo box, and then wired a trolling motor plug female end to the outside of the box connecting to the lithium battery. I have the male trolling motor plug on my black box wires (not my graph) . I plug them up, and then can easily take this setup out to charge, it’s all contained in my front compartment. I am really happy with this setup as I don’t have to worry as much about draw on the battery, and have a 12v 12AH cheap mighty max battery I keep in the boat as backup in case my lithium ever runs out. So I recommend 2 things: keeping your black box and cranking battery separate. And go on Amazon and get a 50 dollar Norco jump box to keep in your boat in case your cranking battery does go down. dtrs5kprs 1

What all are you running with it? How are you charging it?
Travis Swift Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 I bought a 14.7 volt 19amp hour. Both the battery and black Box fit in my rodbox The battery comes with the charger. I'm running the livescope and a 93sv off of it and ran 12 hours last week and never even dropped to 12volts. Had plenty of juice left. Weighs about a pound which really is helpful with my tracker BilletHead, dtrs5kprs and Daryk Campbell Sr 3
Dutch Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 Thanks. I didn’t even know that anything like that existed. dtrs5kprs 1

aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 I fished 6 hours yesterday with 3 graphs on, live well pump on, and the scope running. Hardy used the outboard at all and no issues. My black box is wired directly to my battery without a cut off switch and ive put a volt meter on my battery got a reading and then let it set for a week and still got the same reading. I havent seen any draw from it. I know ive read some people say it has a constant draw
liphunter Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 I put a power switch on mine. But I did leave it on for a while just to see if I had a power drain. Doesn't seem to. I wonder if sometimes folks are putting it to sleep instead of turning it off? Just a thought. dtrs5kprs 1 Luck is where preparation meets opportunity...... Or you could just flip a coin???

If you are running a group 36 lead acid thats your problem. They aren't made to run electronics. They are made to start the motor. You will have to switch to a bigger AGM. I run 4 93sv's with live scope and never had an issue. If you are going to run that many units...gotta have the power to do it and its a not a 36 lead acid. I am currently running the 31AGM Duracell from sams...got it on sale a while back. You will have to look at reserve capacity and cranking amps from now on. bobby b. and dtrs5kprs 2
