Whiskey and nicotine I don't think so. It may be mental though. Maybe a nice clean store bought chicken breast tastes better to me because I didn't watch them walking around in the yard pooping every 23 seconds....and then as soon as one chicken poops....the one directly behind it immediately picks it up and scarfs it down.

I get that fully but where do you think your store bought chickens come from? Caged where the row above poops on the ones below or in giant chicken houses where they cannot move from sheer numbers on the floor. Pumped with antibiotics and who knows what else. Thats why they are so tender. Like cattle in a feed lot. No use for muscles. No exercise. Antibiotics and who knows what else....costs money. The purpose of chicken production is to MAKE money, not SPEND money. If the chickens are medicated at all it is probably a growth hormone (not produced synthetically because that costs money, but taken from other chickens because that's free). They are tender because they are YOUNG. Don't eat the raw livers or gizzards and you won't have a single cell of the hormone transported into your body. The proteins from the meat are just fine. Premium actually. Of all people to be concerned about things that are needlessly medicated, we have YOU! That is a genuine side-splitter. 🤣😂😅
oneshot Posted June 4, 2021 Author Posted June 4, 2021 I was telling my wife they are full of it. They feed the same feed I do. Starter Grower Medicated. Cornish X ready in no time. I worked for Tyson and Cargill and seen plenty Chicken meat. Most everything was shipped over seas. The meat I seen if I was cooking it I would question the looks . Dang I was doing work US Citizens won’t do. They put Mexican in my place, couldn’t speak a bit of English. oneshot BilletHead 1

Very few places I have found that can cook giblets properly. Everyone wants to have no seasoning and over cook them. Pink and tender with plenty of seasoning for me please. Terrierman Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Yard birds are better than cage birds. Eggs and meat both. Zero doubt about that one. Pigs that get to range taste better than a pig lot pig too. Now when it comes to beef... Give me one that's been grained and put up for the last 100 days before slaughter. Grass fed before that is fine. But you want beef when the animal is putting on weight. snagged in outlet 3 and BilletHead 1 1
snagged in outlet 3 Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 My father in law kept his in a stall next to the milk house. Finished it on corn. Delicious.

Maybe, if you have nothing to do besides keeping an eye on them 24/7. Turn your back on them around here....and all you're doing is spending time & money to feed the hawks, foxes and coyotes. 41 minutes ago, Terrierman said: Pigs that get to range taste better than a pig lot pig too. I have absolutely no complaints about the pork products that we get locally from RCfarms. It's a family pig lot operation, and I can't even imagine there being better chops, steak, sausage, brats, and loin available anywhere on earth. And nearby "Burgers" has delicious cured hams. Everyone that works at both of those places has BOATS.....So that works out fabulously. 😊 41 minutes ago, Terrierman said: Now when it comes to beef... It's just hamburger, corned beef, and the occasional roast for us. None of my family, nor me, are big steak eaters. Beef steaks are a disappointment more often than not, so I have pretty much boycotted it. Excessive chewing is an exercise that I can do without.
