These would be considered  by ichthyologists as "super males" since they are so vibrant in their spawning colors.

Learning about and catching these types of fish were the biggest reasons that got me into microfishing.

Hey guys I got to thinking.  Have you caught baby sport fish like bass and trout?  I mean 2"- 3" size.

I've caught very small bass.  This one is just an example...probably 2".  I'm sure I've caught even smaller.

sorry @snagged in outlet 3 no photos of tiny bass, but I have have caught at least a couple that were no more than 2" in length. One bit a 1.5" roostertail.

Here is a wild brook trout from PA that I caught last year. It was probably 2.75 - 3" in length.

I rarely see them.  I see lots of minnows but they clearly aren't bass or trout.  Thx

I have only seen young trout in a couple of the blue ribbon streams. Baby bass were seen in the creek/river that we have both fished 😉 before.

I’ve seen 5-6” trout but never a minnow size.   I’ve seen schools of baby bluegill but no bass.  I’d like to see a baby smallie.

I have never seen a baby gar, or one under 2 feet long for that matter.

        They are there! When I used to bow fish wading in backwaters you would see them. Cute miniatures of the adults.
