The recent bust in Oklahoma was for dumping over 1000 gar in the red river, it is well documented on the OWFD page, even have video of the men counting the fish

That's true but the photo that you posted at the top of this thread was not gar nor even close to 1000 fish.

Hey old buddy I'm totally with you on the natives. As far as the commons let the bowfishers have thier fun. Introduced non natives should be controlled.

Some in the bfer community want species equally allowed

bass, catfish, trout, paddlefish are all legal in some states…Texas found the biggest fish were targeted more in their catfish experience and ended that.

They claimed it was 1000 in one night and that is not as uncommon as you would think

It hard to justify blatant wanton waste…kill it eat it

many rough fish are as good as crappie

with CWD we are seeing upticks in dumped deer

Modify the regs.  You kill it, you keep it and eat it.  All of it.  Including at tournaments.  Group meals for tournament members, their families, and spectators.  No culling.

Or, if you don't want to eat it... you must clean it, prepare it, vacuum package it and deliver it for use by homeless shelters and food banks.  No waste.

I wonder if there would still be guys interested in the sport if you put them on a boat on a pond and made them troll around and shoot underwater targets instead of fish?

That is a great idea. Have the tournaments be required to have a certain number of processers or else they can't have the tournament.

OMG!! The carp must be saved for one specific group!! Only that group deserves to harass fish!! I can't believe Biden isn't doing something about this.

If you want to know the groups that support common carp protections are:

eurostyle carp anglers, fly fisherman that target golden bones, paylakers who gamble on fishing, rough fish groups.

other groups who oppose unregulated bfing

redfish groups, catfish groups gar groups and bowfin groups

a number of state fisheries biologists concerned about native fish populations primarily long lived, slow to maturity, buffalo and alligator gar and the impact removing common carp does to early food available to game fish like bass and walleyes. Also the effect hyper bright lights have on bird populations and non target fish during the spawn (walleyes, endangered suckers)

Some lake property owners are fed up with noise, lights, outright property damage and stinking fish piles

Are all BFers bad? Absolutely not,,,neither was all the remote control boat anglers that targeted the ginormous blue cats below Truman dam, most caught and released or selectively harvested.

few caught and trafficed catfish for profit, selling fish in Kc
