Modern day frog gigging...I prefer a gig but the boys went this evening with a 10/22 and a buck mark...I stayed home.  
 

here’s the youngest with his.  I’m sure the oldest has a similar string.

I used to use a pellet gun and flashlight.  Good times.

My step granddad used to make me hold the light and he would shoot them with a 22. We always had to go and wade around in these farm ponds full of snakes.

Love frog legs.  Went once when I was a kid with my grandpa and one of his buddies.  They sculled a jon boat down SE MO ditches.  Carbide head lamps and gigs, old school, but they filled a cooler with frogs.

    Nice you stayed home. Bet you get to eat some if they will share. Been five or so years since we went. Yes we as I had Pat tag along. Sluge, slime and skeeters she endured. 

             So do you rent out them there boys? Must be nice to have them supply such a fine meal

I ate a lot of frog legs when I was younger. When I was a kid. We used to go to the strip pits and get them. I was told they taste like a rattle snake. Found out later, rattle snake taste like chicken!😉

Thanks Marty.  I love going but Im slowing down.

makes me proud when they go by themselves...makes me think all the time I’ve spent...and their papa has spent taking them has been worth it...and that they’ll continue to go their kids

plus... it’s good bonding time for them...something about the water...they’ll always remember going...and the laughs 

a good meal is the icing on the cake

Yeppers you have done well with their training and future. I am slowing down as well. Looking forward to the next adventure.
