The Olympics

I’ve been watching these Tokyo Summer Olympics for the last few nights. I really think some of these sports are much more difficult than others.
Gymnastics in my opinion has to be the toughest of all sports to win a gold medal. I mean, they basically have no room for error. You have to be extremely good at 4 different events and not make a mistake. I feel so sorry for these kids that work their tail off and sacrifice their entire life and have to perfectly stick every landing. Can’t imagine the pressure to perform on these young kids.
The fencing literally drives me crazy to watch…they score on “touches”… when someone touches another and their electronic green light comes on and they scream like little kids. Like the gayest thing I’ve ever seen.
The Beach volleyball is nothing but a light porn show! 😜

I really enjoy the track and the swimming. These people are in top top shape and can rise to the moment somewhat unexpectedly.

i just wonder sometimes what these kids are going to do the rest of their lives after the stardom fades. Hopefully they will live a productive life.

I took fencing as one of my PE electives in college.  Why not, a little sword fight tactics may come in handy some day!  Fun class, but we had the little rubber tips and cheap padded suits with the hood not much thicker than what I work bees with now..  You could feel the hits.  Times have changed.  And now, you can't make fun of Gay things.  LGBTQRS ones will take offense.  But I do think its a French sport.

I tried to watch the Golf but it was too late at night and they weren't playing for money so I failed.  Most of the announcers are horrid no matter which sport.

About the women's beach volleyball.  The uniforms are prescribed.  Can't believe that flies in this "enlightened" time.

We are sitting here tonight watching synchronized swimming.  As goofy as these girls look, this has to be one of the hardest things in the world to do in sports.  Holding their breath underwater for over half of a 3 minute routine with their legs up in the air kicking and spinning around, it’s kind of mesmerizing to watch.

I agree!

im also happy that cocky Noah Liles may not make the semi finals in the 200 meters because he coasted too quickly and let 2 others pass him at the end.

I have had a difficult time.getting into the Olympics that last several times.  When I was a kid the Olympics were almost all that was on during their run, not so much else to choose from.  I truly enjoyed the boxing and wrestling, but you seldom see those events now, at least I don't find them, but I don't look too hard either.  I fully acknowledge that these athletes are some of the best in the world at their sports and am truly impressed at their abilities.  I enjoy seeing some of the highlights of medal events but to sit and watch 6 different heats to see who gets to run in the finals, nah just doesn't do not for me.  I will happily day that I am dang proud of any of the athletes that represent the USA whether they medal or not.
